The Kill Switch
Today's project is from instructions I found on make.com by John Edgar Park and Sean Michael Ragan.
It is an internet kill switch.
Project Type: Electronic
Project Source: http://makezine.com/projects/internet-kill-switch/
Was this project as easy as the tutorial led me to believe?
Yes! It was super easy! The only soldering I had to do was two connections to the power switch.
What mistakes did I make?
Well, connected the power wire to the wrong terminals on the power switch at first but I manage to figure it out quickly. I also made the hole for the ethernet jacks too big but I corrected the problem with a hot glue gun.
Is this project useful?
Meh. Kind of. This gadget lets be cut the ethernet connection with a flick of a switch but I can just as easily unplug the computer on even turn it off.
How Do I Rate this Project?
I give this project a rating of Mcguyver!
Even if it isn't a particularly useful gadget, It is a clever use of common parts. Also, it looks pretty cool.
