What the heck is a -2003D or a -2003F error?
Happy New Year!
I thought I’d kick off 2020 by answering a troubleshooting question. What the heck is a -2003D or a -2003F error on an Apple Computer?
It turns out a 2003 error means there is HTTP connection issue. Your computer is not able to open a HTTP connection to OSRS.
OSRS stands for OS Recovery Server. If you are getting a -2003D or a -2003F error, then you are probably on an Apple Computer and you are trying to boot to the Net Recovery Partition (Option+Command+R).
There are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
If you are using ethernet, test with a known good cable
Check your firewall settings. (See support article here.)
Try a different location.
If all these steps fail, you may have a hardware issue. You’ll need to take a trip to the Apple Store for help.
